Customer Reviews

Customer Review: We have had this oven now for over a month and we have’nt used our big oven since. Only 2 of us. The air frier works great especially on Bacon, although I reduce time to 7 min on first side and 6 min on the other. Salmon and chicken air fried turn out great. The other features work great as well. The only exception is baking cinnamon rolls. First time burned at 375 11 min. Second time still burned at 350 10 or 11 min. Third time will be the charm. I put an oven thermometer in it at 350 and it was spot on. When baking especially pre-heat for better accuracy. As others have stated, the timer is inaccurate, so use google, alexa or a timer. I usually wipe it out the inside with a paper towel after use and so far it stays clean. I read most of the 3 and 4 star reviews on many ovens ad selected ths one because the outside temp is not scorching hot and because of the Quisnart brand.

Customer Review: This is a really beautiful oven. I got it in white and it is stunning. The air fryer basket is roomy which is so nice. There are only two shelves … an upper and a lower so be sure to ready the instructions on which one use for which cooking option. I made toast and it was perfect. It bakes well and quickly. I was very pleased that the air fry noise was very soft. The instruction manual was easy to follow and includes recipes too. The top gets warm so don’t put anything on top of it that you would not want to get warm or melt. I previously have a Ninja Crispi and you can put so much more food in this oven. I highly recommend.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: UPDATE: We had an issue with our Air fryer about 6 weeks after we got it, I emailed the company, they responded the next business day, and they were very helpful. Solved our problem. I’ve bought several Gourmia products from Walmart, Target, and Amazon and all of them have lasted a long time with no problems at all. Also, at work they have the super expensive brand air fry oven….and after using it for a month it’s clear The GOURMIA one I have is way better, MUCH MUCH quieter, and the alarms are way softer on mine, and thats a plus in a house of “beep” haters (including the dogs)!!! We love this thing, plus it’s cute and green, haha. Thanks Gourmia for good service!

Customer Review: I’ve been using this air fryer regularly (every day, whole day) and I’m honestly impressed with how well it performs. It heats up quickly, cooks food evenly, and gives everything that crispy texture without needing a lot of oil. Fries, chicken, vegetables, and even reheated leftovers come out tasting better than expected. The controls are simple and intuitive, making it easy for anyone to use. Cleaning is also super easy. It’s the perfect size for everyday meals. If you’re on the fence about getting an air fryer, this one is definitely a great choice.

With its 8‑in‑1 functionality 🍳, I can toast, bake, air fry, broil, and more — all in one compact appliance. The results are consistently delicious, whether I’m making crispy fries, roasting veggies, or baking cookies. It heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and the controls are intuitive and easy to use. For the price, the quality and versatility are unbeatable.

Customer Review: Plugged in and bam! Had fast toast again. Super compact but still cooks a pizza. Love it! The cable kind of gets in the way when you flip it up if your plug is on the wall behind the unit, but we keep ours flat, so no issue.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: My more expensive, super fancy Krups toaster oven recently kicked the bucket after about 4-5 yrs of service, and it was time to replace it. While my Krups was a good toaster oven (before it died), it took up a lot of space on the counter, it was expensive to buy, and frankly it had a lot of features (convection) and interior space that I just don’t use and don’t think are necessary in a toaster oven. So when I shopped for a replacement, I decided to go downmarket a bit. This toaster oven is a good choice because: 1) It’s simple – toast, bagel, bake, broil. The analog controls are simple to use… 2) It works – nice even toasting. Heats up quickly for reheating items. 3) It’s a fair price – way cheaper than the expensive convection ovens, but not so cheap as to be garbage 4) Small footprint – doesn’t take up much counter space yet still big enough for everything I want a toaster oven to do. Overall – there should be more toaster ovens in this segment.

Customer Review: I see a lot of people expecting perfection when this is not the flagship model. Expect less and don’t punish the manufacturer for your choice. Although this is not the top tier full featured “convection” or “air fryer” with a heat circulating fan it does bake which is what I wanted it to do. It has a smaller foot print and it cost a third the price of a top tier convection oven. It comes with a 3-year warranty which is better than many. It also has old fashioned knobs and avoids potential problems with an LED digital menu. This one is a simple but nice quality toaster oven. It is much better quality than typical toaster ovens which can be quite flimsy. This is solid, sturdy and looks nice.

5. Hamilton Beach 31156 2-in-1 Toaster Oven

Hamilton Beach 31156 2-in-1 Countertop Toaster Oven and Long Slot 2-Slice Toaster, 60-Min Timer, Auto Shut-Off, Shade Selector, Stainless Steel

The Hamilton Beach 31156 is a clever space-saver that combines a long-slot toaster on top with a full toaster oven below. The wide slot accommodates thick artisan breads and bagels. The oven below is surprisingly spacious (16.5L) and toasts 40% faster than traditional models. Users love the dual functionality, which eliminates the need for two separate appliances. The main quirk is that the bottom of toast may not brown evenly due to heating element placement, though this improved for many after a “burn-in” period.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ 2-in-1 design: long-slot toaster + toaster oven
  • ✓ Wide slot fits thick breads and bagels
  • ✓ 16.5L oven capacity with 60-min timer
  • ✓ Toasts 40% faster* with 5 shade settings
  • ✓ Auto shut-off and stay-on function

Why We Recommend It

This is the ultimate solution for small kitchens or anyone wanting to declutter. You get a dedicated, high-quality toaster and a capable toaster oven in one footprint. It’s perfect for daily toast needs plus occasional baking or reheating. The build feels solid, and the controls are simple. It’s a smart, functional design that delivers on its promise of saving space without sacrificing performance.

Best For

Singles, couples, or small families with limited counter space who want both a reliable toaster and a toaster oven. Also great for anyone who loves thick-sliced bread and wants a dedicated wide-slot toaster.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Two appliances in one; great space saver
  • Wide toaster slot fits thick breads easily
  • Oven heats up quickly and cooks evenly
  • Simple, intuitive controls
  • Good value for the dual functionality
Cons:
  • Bottom of toast may not brown evenly initially
  • Entire unit gets very hot; careful handling needed
  • Timer alert only works for oven, not toaster
  • Toaster lever must be held down briefly to engage

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I bought this toaster oven because it came highly recommended from a review in a consumer reviewing magazine. It is fantastic! It has an unusual design, where there is a toaster slot at the top, but a totally separate door at the front for baking or broiling items. The toaster slot at the top is very wide, and it accepts even the biggest pieces of rye bread that I get from my local delicatessen. It was very difficult to tell from the product description and the photos whether the slot at the top was one long slot (Yesudas), or two shorter slots. I was very happy to learn that it is one long slot. Of course, it also fits two pieces of bread at the same time. I have had it for almost a month now, and it has worked flawlessly. The price was nice, too!

Customer Review: Update: I changed the rating from 4 stars to 5. After about two months the main complaint of toast not being brown on the bottom has changed. I’m not sure why, but the toast is now evenly brown all over an dit browns quicker than before. ??? Maybe the elements needed to “burn in”? Whatever the problem was, it seems to be resolved now. Hooray! Our toaster bit the dust and we haven’t had a toaster oven in years so we thought it was a clever idea to combine both and it is with one drawback (the bottom 1/2″ -1″ so of the toast doesn’t brown due to the placement of the elements. It’s not a dealbreaker for me because what it does brown is nice and even. The whole slice feels toasted, it’s just not all brown. You need to hold the toaster lever down for a couple seconds for it to catch and start toasting. I like that there is a cancel button and you can lift the toast slightly to help in removing it. It’s handy that you can toast different shapes of bread in the wide slot. I like the overall size of this oven. It doesn’t take up a lot of space in the kitchen. Not much more than the large 4 slice toaster we had. The controls are easy to use and not complicated like some. You do have to turn on the timer to get the oven to work. It has a pleasant timer alert, a must for my husband. Note, the alert only works with the oven, not the toaster. I like that the toaster part closes when not in use by pushing a lever. The oven heats up quickly. We’ve used the broiler a lot and it works great. I like that you can prop the door partly open to allow heat to dissipate after use. I bought a set of pans made for toaster ovens and am glad I did. It makes it much more versatile. My only real issue is that the whole thing gets quite hot. We didn’t put it under a low overhanging cabinet for that reason. You don’t want to touch the edges of door (the handle is fine) or outside parts of the oven when taking food out. I got several small burns when I used it the first couple times. I’m more aware now. Overall it’s a great little toaster/oven and we’re happy with our choice.

6. BLACK+DECKER TO3250XSBD Convection Toaster Oven

BLACK+DECKER TO3250XSBD 8-Slice Extra Wide Convection Toaster Oven, Includes Bake Pan, Broil & Toasting Racks, Stainless Steel/Black

The BLACK+DECKER TO3250XSBD is a spacious, convection-powered workhorse that fits standard 9″x13″ pans with handles. Its extra-wide interior (11.5″ height) is one of the largest in its class, making it suitable for baking cookies, casseroles, or even a whole chicken. The convection fan ensures fast, even cooking. Users praise its value and performance, though some note a slight rattling from the drip pan if installed incorrectly and a short power cord that may require an extension.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ Extra-wide interior fits 9″x13″ pans with handles
  • ✓ Convection fan for even, fast baking
  • ✓ 8-slice toast capacity; 1800W power
  • ✓ Includes bake pan, broil and toasting racks
  • ✓ 60-minute timer with auto shut-off

Why We Recommend It

For anyone needing a large-capacity toaster oven that can handle real baking tasks, this BLACK+DECKER is a standout. The convection feature makes a real difference in evenness and speed. It’s built like a tank for the price, and the ability to use your own bakeware is a huge plus. It’s the go-to choice for batch cooking or when you need to replicate full-oven results on the countertop.

Best For

Families, home bakers, or anyone who regularly cooks for a crowd. Perfect for those who want to bake cookies, casseroles, or small roasts in their toaster oven without sacrificing space or performance.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Very spacious interior; fits large pans
  • Convection cooking delivers excellent, even results
  • Great value for the size and power
  • Sturdy build quality
  • Includes useful accessories
Cons:
  • Power cord is relatively short
  • Drip pan can rattle if not seated properly
  • Timer only in 5-minute increments
  • Some users note temperature may run slightly low

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This is awesome! I’ve had a couple of other Black & Deckers that were smaller with air fryer features but this one is a straight-up toaster oven / convection oven. It’s very wide and holds a 9 by 13 pan easy. Because of the air flow it cooks quickly. Everything I’ve made so far came out great. And I’ve made a lot including cookies and a pie and meat dishes. If you’re looking for a good quality toaster oven at a good price I’d go with this one. People complain that it makes a lot of noise but I think they might have the drip pan in upside down. When I first put the drip pan in and it was upside down it rattled when the oven was running and I realized I had put it in upside down. When I corrected it, the rattling stopped. As far as the short cord, you can use an extension cord so I don’t see the big deal. Overall, I love it!

Customer Review: I’ve considered and researched getting a toaster oven for sometime. My oven hasn’t been working well… I finally decided on this Black & Decker oven–it had the most height(11.5″)… The whole oven is not very heavy, but does look well made. I found the turn the oven on timer a little awkward… The oven did loud vibrate sometimes( my rattling pans?) not sure–but the oven has been working great. I’ve been using this oven often for baking homemade pizza, apple empanadas, rustic olive rolls, etc. So far this has been exceeding my expectations. I will need to learn adjust the temp settings. It does seem to follow recipe guidelines as far as temperature goes. I wish it had 5 min increments on the timer setting. You have to turn the timer on to turn the oven on–I still find that odd. Finally I wish the directions were better and maybe some recipes. I’m mostly pleased with this oven, and can see why its so popular. Other than some minor oddities, its spacious, fairly easy to use, and its very cost effective–Whats not to like?

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m so impressed with the BLACK+DECKER 4-Slice Toaster Oven! The stainless steel finish looks great on my countertop, and the natural convection cooks food evenly and faster than my old toaster oven. It toasts, bakes, and broils perfectly—crispy on the outside and cooked through every time. The controls are easy to use, and the interior is the perfect size for everyday meals without taking up too much space. Cleanup is a breeze with the removable crumb tray. Whether I’m making toast, reheating leftovers, or baking small dishes, this oven handles it all with great results. Great quality, reliable performance, and excellent value. I highly recommend this toaster oven! 🍞🔥✨

Customer Review: So far so good. This little oven and I are off to a great start, and hopefully a long lasting relationship 🙂 My previous two ovens from other manufacturers, ghosted me 🙂 Not only do I have other products from Black & Decker, that have been with me on my journey for over a decade, and they’re still consistently reliable. So, it was only a matter of time before I added another Black & Decker to my Kitchen. I wasted so much money over the years on expensive much larger ovens, with all the “bells & whistles,” and they talked the talk, but didn’t walk the walk. It took me week of research to arrive at the decision to purchase this one. Yes, it is small, but it suits my needs, and it saves space…lots of space on the counter. Easy to use, I figured it out right away without reading any instructions. It is also very quiet, feels durable, and looks great. I just wanted something that wasn’t going to burn the bagel, and i finally found it.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Love this oven / toaster ! !! It’s beautiful and does the job of several other appliances! It preheats quickly. I like that it automatically suggests temp/time from your selection. And best of all, it quickly accomplishes what my big oven took forever to do! So far I have baked cinnamon buns and a pie and toasted an English Muffin. All things accomplished with so much less wait time and waste of energy than using my big oven. It is sizeable, but to fit what I wanted to cook, it needed to be. But, I gained counter space elsewhere because I eliminated the need for our toaster. It has a quality look and it came with a variety of racks that slide in and out easily. Someone had complained about not being able to turn it off, but all you do is hold the start button 3 seconds. I am in love with this item so far! Update: after owning for two months I still love my oven BUT it does have one FLAW so far, it has scorch marks on the outer edges of the door where the heat escapes. I think this could have been avoided if they had taken the rubber gasket all the way to the edge. The oven still works beautifully but the esthetic appeal is waning because of the scorch marks 🙁

Customer Review: This appliance has left my microwave begging to be used because all of our favorite food just turns out better in this toaster oven! My kids are obsessed with chicken nuggets, burritos, and pizza. The geek out over the restaurant-worthy crunch they never had with just a microwave. Seriously…I may have to give away my microwave now. But here’s the kicker – it’s not just for the kiddos. I’ve discovered that it’s a magician when it comes to fish, giving it flakiness that’s just heavenly. And oh, the small batches of cookies! They come out golden, chewy, and absolutely irresistible. I have found myself using this way more than my large built in oven because it heats up so much faster! It is super easy it is to clean up. No more scrubbing and scraping – a quick wipe after you cook is all it needs. And let’s talk about aesthetics – this oven is not just a kitchen appliance; it’s a piece of art. It adds a touch of Italianesque sophistication and style to my kitchen that I absolutely adore. From Air Fry to Toast, Bake, and even Slow Cook, it does it all I need it to do and more. Its a great functional size too, small enough to not rob you of all of your counter space but has family size capacity for larger dishes. I prefer to air fry in this over my air fryer because I don’t have to shake the food if I put it in just right. This was a Prime Day splurg and I’m so glad I bought it! I haven’t found any cons yet. I’m using the heck out of it so if I find any I’ll be sure to update my review.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I have been looking for a new toaster oven with air fry for a small apartment kitchen for what seems like years… I definitely do like the versatility regarding the manner in which the cooking can be set up. I love all the presets and how the temp, time, fan speed, and actually who knows what all can be adjusted. I ordered stainless steel, but the color on the top and sides came gray. So that was a bit disappointing, but I adjusted to the reality and overall the product does looking nice with mostly the front stainless steel showing anyway. I have done toast and bagels… I baked a lasagna in a casserole dish… So anyway now with all the reviews, some of them mentioning fire and what not, I am a bit more mindful. I really wanted a bigger oven and had my heart set on it, but finally, I realized I need to have a smaller one in the present kitchen for safety. So to just go easy, and more or less, cook with it like I did my old toaster oven, just a convenience when I don’t want to turn on the big oven. So far, so good. I do appreciate the time and effort and care that went into the engineering of this product. Small dent sort of thing in front left. Again, not exactly perfect, but like wow, not enough to make a return, and overall the product IS a real pleasure.

Customer Review: This Nuwave countertop air fryer and convection toaster oven combo is designed to handle a wide range of everyday cooking tasks in one appliance, and it has quickly become a regular part of our kitchen routine. How We Use It: I’m familiar with both standalone air fryers and toaster ovens, including combo units. We’ve used this one over several weeks for air frying, baking, toasting, and reheating, mainly for our small to medium meals. What Worked Well: The versatility is the biggest plus. It replaced several individual appliances, which helped clear off valuable counter space. The controls are easy to understand, and it didn’t take long to feel comfortable switching between functions. Air fry and convection modes cooked food evenly without needing constant attention. Cleanup was easy. Limitations or Considerations: Like most multi-function appliances, there was a brief learning curve when fine-tuning settings for different cooking modes. This felt expected rather than frustrating. Overall Impression: This is a great option for anyone looking to streamline their kitchen without giving up flexibility. It fits naturally into daily use and handles a variety of tasks well. Bonus Note: The mint color was an unexpected bonus and worked nicely with our kitchen remodel.

Complete Buying Guide for Best Toaster Ovens

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a toaster oven, capacity is king. Measure your counter space and think about what you’ll cook most. A 0.5-0.6 cu ft model fits 4-6 slices of toast, while larger 1.0+ cu ft French-door models can handle a 13-inch pizza or chicken. Functions vary widely—basic models toast/bake/broil, while advanced ones add air fry, dehydrate, and slow cook. Heat technology matters: convection fans circulate air for even baking; infrared cooks faster. Controls range from simple analog dials to digital panels with presets. Ease of cleaning (removable crumb tray, non-stick interior) and safety features (cool-touch exterior, auto shut-off) are also critical. Finally, consider noise level—some convection fans are loud.

Budget Planning

You can find a reliable basic toaster oven for under $60, but expect limited capacity and no air fry. Mid-range models ($80-$150) offer convection, larger sizes, and better build quality. Premium units ($150-$300+) include advanced features like French doors, infrared heating, and extensive presets. Decide which functions are must-haves. If you primarily toast and reheat, a simple model suffices. For air frying and baking, budget at least $100. Remember to factor in potential long-term energy savings vs. a full-sized oven.

Final Thoughts

The best toaster oven for you depends entirely on your cooking habits and kitchen space. Our top pick, the Cuisinart TOA-70NAS, offers the best all-around performance. For large families, the Gourmia French Door is unmatched. Small-space dwellers will love the Ninja SP101. Don’t overbuy features you’ll never use. A simple, well-built model often outperforms a feature-packed but finicky one. Prioritize even heating, durable construction, and easy cleanup. With the right choice, your toaster oven will become the most-used appliance on your counter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can a toaster oven replace my regular oven?

A: For most everyday tasks like toasting, reheating, baking cookies, or cooking small meats, yes. However, large items (turkey, big casseroles) or recipes requiring precise, stable heat over long periods are still best for a full-sized oven. A good toaster oven is a fantastic supplement, not a full replacement.

Q: Is an air fryer toaster oven worth it?

A: Absolutely, if you enjoy crispy foods with less oil. The air fry function uses rapid air circulation to crisp up fries, chicken wings, and veggies beautifully. It’s a healthier alternative to deep frying and often yields better texture than a microwave. Just ensure the model has a dedicated air fry setting and a fan—some “convection” ovens aren’t true air fryers.

Q: How do I clean a toaster oven?

A: Most have a removable crumb tray—empty it after each use. For spills, let the oven cool, then wipe the interior with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Non-stick interiors make cleanup easy. Some models have dishwasher-safe racks and pans. Always unplug before cleaning. A regular light wipe-down prevents buildup.

Q: Why does my toaster oven smoke?

A: This is often due to food debris or grease burning on the heating elements or tray. Run the oven empty at a high temperature (like 450°F) for 10-15 minutes to burn off residue (this may smoke initially). Ensure the crumb tray is clean and positioned correctly. Using foil on racks can cause flare-ups if fat drips onto it.

Q: Can I use metal pans in a toaster oven?

Ready to upgrade your kitchen? Based on our testing, the Cuisinart TOA-70NAS is the best overall pick for its balance of power, versatility, and user-friendly design. For larger families, the Gourmia French Door offers unmatched capacity and quiet operation. And if counter space is tight, the Ninja SP101 flips away neatly without sacrificing performance.
